the escapade continues..

Started the day with short prayers at the Sta. Anna Church

Breakfast at Taps- I had baconsilog (bacon, siningag rice plus itlog (egg))

After breakfast, we headed to the Pradise Island Nature Resort. For us to get to the island we need to ride a " lantsa"(boat).

Face in hole!lol

Other activities that you can enjoy:

50 pesos of the Entrance fee is consumable so we decided to chill down and grab some shakes.Got to taste the Durian Shake , it tastes good for me considering that I'm not a Durian fan

Explored Abreeza after the Paradise trip, it's very much similar to Ayala Center Cebu.Restaurants which I could not find in Cebu are Ranch and Reef (steak and Shrimp buffet) in which were supposed to have lunch but we reached there at 2:30 pm and buffet is yet to resume dinner time. They also have Sumo Sam, Ranchero and the Seafood Island to name a few.You can also find the Paris Hilton store in Abreeza.

Since we didn't get the chance to experience the shrimps and steak buffet, the craving shifted to pizza so we headed to Picobello which is located 5th floor of the Gaisano Center.

We were able to avail the Buy 1 Take 1 Pizza.Promo starts from 2 pm - 5 pm but for Dine in only.

Explored SM City Davao and tried Blu Gre Coffee. I had the Durian Frappe and it was so tasty!Paired off our coffee with Cello's doughnuts. It's one of the best doughnuts I've tasted.I was able to try a variety of flavors namely cheese, honey glazed, oreo and peanut butter and everything taste good.Hope we can have it soon in Cebu as well.

NCCC mall tour- This Avatar Guy caught our attention. He really doesnt talk and does not even do the slightest gesture.lol! They had this to promote Avatar in 3D .Had this pose to see if we can get a reaction from him.The verdict? We failed. Good job Man!ha ha ha

Dinner Time at Dencio's which was located at the Hill Top. The last time I visited Davao I just had a picture with the Dencio's sign as my background so I made sure that this time I could dine in and yes! Mission Accomplished!
Specialty Barbecue Chicken
Since they offer unlimited rice for this package, so they will serve you with 2 cups of rice

Statue of David -This statue was sculpted by Michael Angelo.
FYI: This is just one of the replicas.I really could not recall other places where-else it  is situated but  as far as I could recall Australia was one of them which is in Queensland. Apparently, this statue was located right beside Queensland motel.

Last Day:

Flight was 10:45 am.
Had breakfast at Penong's

We had pinakbet (the best I've ever tasted),battered chicken, pancit canton and bulalo(not in the picture).

It was indeed a worthwhile stay in Davao. Despite the time constraint, we were able to explore not may be all the places but majority of the places in which a " tourist" should go.
Thank you to Jay's family for the hospitality!Till next time guys!

weekend escapade: davao day 1

Last weekend, we did get a chance to travel to the largest city in Mindanao ..Davao City

grabbed a quick breakfast at Dunkin Donuts with their specialty burgers

Dothy and Mom- it's their first time to travel outside Cebu so you can just imagine how excited they were!

Upon arriving, I received this shirt from Jay's sister who just came back from China. She stayed there for a year  to study. Thanks Jean!

We had Eden as part of our itinerary for Day 1.Eden Nature Park is one of Davao's attraction. If you wanna escape from the busy City life, I guess this is one of the go - to places in Davao.

Eden Buffet is worth 450 pesos. For it's price, I find it quite expensive since they only offer few choices food wise. But after tasting their vegetable salad and their fruits, I was able to conclude that the price was not that bad after all since it tastes heavenly!Everything's so fresh from the fruits down to the vegetables.

Jay's siblings joined us on our tour. (That lady not facing the camera is Jean, she's too camera shy!She really can tell that you are taking her photo secretly, lol! She was also our photographer that day and for the rest of our trip lol!)

We didn't leave the place without exploring the beauty of the place. So we enroll ourselves for the Day Tour.

*Day Tour costs 100 pesos which is good for 45 minutes. They got their own shuttles for those who will be joining the trip and a tour guide of course.

Inidana Jones- its one of the activities that they offer.
How it's done:
1.Hold the rope firmly with both hands and place the rubber seat in between your legs in an upright sitting position.
2.Grip with both hands and legs.
3.Then swing

The Playground Area- unleashing the kid in us :)

bought Marang along the way.It is one of Davao's famous fruit. I apologize but I could not tell you how it tastes since I havent tried it yet.tehee

Davaoenos call this as the "The Mickey Mouse plant" since it's shaped like a mouse. It's not something that you can eat but they use this for ornamental purposes.

had some delicious yoghurt at the Gaisano Mall after the trip

And we had Crabs for dinner. Restaurant is called Let's Crab Eat which offers buffet. What's interesting is they have Crabs all you can in which you can have the usual sauteed crab or you can opt for the spicy version. It was both delicious but I liked the spicy version better since its more tasty and loved how they have it a bit sweet at the same time.

Price: 395
Aside from crabs, they also offer variety of desserts, main courses and appetizers.

We sure did have a blast during our first day in Davao.I know that my Eden pictures were too limited.Honestly I really want to put more pictures of the place but I don't wanna bombard it with too many nature pics.Maybe I'll dedicate a whole post for Eden so that you can also appreciate the beauty of the place the same thing that we did.

Anyhow,Check out my next post on how our Davao escapade continues!:)
